"The living have had their time. Now, the dead awaken."
Emerging from the frozen, desolate reaches of the Undying Lands, the Undead Court is not a mere legend—it is an impending apocalypse. Spawned by the mysterious energy of the Pillars of Fate, this monolithic legion is bound by a single, terrifying will: the Vampire Queen.
Unlike any other race in Ashura, the Court does not seek balance or coexistence. They are a growing tide of sentient and non-sentient undead, converting the fallen into new subjects with every conquest. Driven by the Queen’s personal vendetta against the Human Empire, they command not only the risen dead but also warped abominations like scorpions, dryders, monstrous spiders, sucubusess, and even the Plagues themselves.
As their influence spreads, the once-natural flows of magic are twisted to their whim. Will you stand against the tide, or will you find your place in the Queen's eternal court?

Undead Court Crest

The Undead Courts represent a faction built on attrition, persistence, and rigid formations. Unlike the high-speed, defensive, or tactical reactive nature of other factions, The Undead Court excels at grinding opponents down through inevitable recursion and steady, methodical advancement.
Here is a comprehensive review of The Undead Courts' main roster as established:
The Bone Legion (Core Units)
-
Bone Boys: The core frontline unit, designed to hold ground and tie up enemy units with overwhelming numbers and claim or contest objectives.
-
Bone Soldier: The foundational unit of the Courts. While fragile individually, their Shield ability and Armor 1 make them surprisingly difficult to remove with basic attacks. They are designed to stand their ground and tie up enemy units while chipping away with their Rusty Sword.
-
Bone Archers: The primary ranged unit designed to pick targets off at range and suppress the movement of opponents. THey are fragile but are able to pin targets down quickly.
-
Bone Mage: These units provide essential utility. Through Mystic Manipulation, they can weaken high-threat targets with slows and debuffs or provide light chip damage from a safe distance. They are the primary engine for early-game Fate generation.
-
Bone Knight: The "anchor" of the Undead line. The Knight is a true juggernaut. Its Iron Focus makes it uniquely resistant to the very control effects (like stuns or Will-based freezes) that usually stop slow units. The Broad Sword's Burst capability allows it to punish swarms effectively.
Core Faction Mechanics
-
The "Rise Again" Recursion: This is the signature mechanic of the Undead Courts. By spending Fate tokens, units can reform at the end of the round even if they were completely destroyed. This forces the opponent to either focus-fire units into total elimination or face a never-ending wave of skeletal reinforcements.
-
Controlled Unit: All Bone units are bound by restrictive rules that require them to stay within a 2-inch radius. This reinforces a "rank and file" playstyle where positioning is vital. These units are at their best when they overlap their zones of control and stay close to their summoner.
-
The Fate Economy: Almost every unit generates Fate tokens through successful attacks. In this faction, Fate isn't just for "special moves"—it is the literal lifeblood required to fuel the Rise Again mechanic. If the Undead player stops attacking, their recursion engine stalls.
-
Strengths:
-
Incredible Persistence: The ability to return to play at the end of a round makes them the most resilient faction in a long game.
-
Formation-Based Defense: When grouped, they are very difficult to dislodge from objectives (pillars).
-
Predictable Reliability: They don't rely on high-speed gambles; they rely on steady stat checks.
-
-
Weaknesses:
-
Low Mobility: With a Speed of 4 and the "Only Bones" inability to run, they can be outmaneuvered by faster factions.
-
Holy Vulnerability: They take significant extra damage (+1) from holy sources, creating a hard-counter for opponents with the right alignment.
-
Summoner Dependency: Many units can be tethered to their summoner; if the leader falls, the skeletal units often disintegrate or lose their recursion capability.
